Just Another Thursday

Is there anything more fun than mopping your kitchen floor?  Obviously not, for as I gained some energy that's how I decided to waste/use it.  I like my steam mop and it does make it fairly easy to do, but not the most exciting use of  my limited energy.
I than had a sit down at my computer and did some Christmas shopping.  Hate going to stores and so hopping around the net is how I do most of it.
Enjoyed game 7 of the World Series, fun to see the underdog win.  I'll miss baseball.
Nielson Ratings called me yesterday to see how I was doing with my TV Diary and I said fine, but all we'd watched were reruns of The Big Bang Theory and the World Series followed by Football.  She said that was fine.  I need to mail it in today.
I've enjoyed our cooler weather, but they're saying we'll be in the mid-80s by the weekend, BOO-HISS.
If there is anyone out there who has not sexually harassed a woman please raise your hand, we need to know who you are.  Are you surprised that men in Hollywood harassed women and young boys too?  Surprise, surprise.
Just finish reading The Western Star by Craig Johnson, the 13th in the Longmire series and WOW.  Hope it's not too long until the next one comes out.
That's about all from the swamp.

  1. Love my steam mop too! I'm on my 3rd or 4th one since they came out back in the mid 2000s. In the early days with kids at home, I use to get on my hands and knees to mop with rags. So much better with steam mops!

  2. Kay, who bought my old house, hired out housecleaning. Wise move. Five bedrooms, three bathrooms, kitchen, living room, studio--just the floors alone would kill her. Like to kilt us, until I got three grandkids on board and offered them allowances if they did floors and I let the cleaners go. Win, win.

  3. I have a swiffer mop. Not real fond of it, but it does clean up the spills and Jill's paw prints. If I so much as hint at some other new gadget, DH will blow. I currently have 5, (yes five) vacuum cleaners so if I start on mops ...
    I like the new header!
    Rest up good now!

  4. I've heard good things about steam mops but I've never had one myself, I think I shall have to look into them. I do a lot of my Christmas shopping online too, I think you get the best deals online as well as missing all the crowds.

  5. You watched what you wanted and enjoyed it. I love when shows are cancelled and I don't know them or haven't seen them.
Love you comment about the the great Hollywood/New York elite. They love to tell all of us in the "fly over states" what we are to do but ........

    cheers, parsnip

  6. I will also miss baseball! So happy that Houston won, we had several players on there who used to be Braves! :-)

    1. I forgot to say I was happy with Houston's win. Couldn't come at a better time.

  8. It was a good world series and I was happy to see the Astros win!

I'm always glad when I'm doing washing the kitchen floor; getting down on my hands and knees is not as fun as it was in my 40s :)

It is interesting all these stars being called out for their behavior in sometimes days of long ago. I will say that I truly believe in my heart my husband has not sexually harassed anyone.

  9. I have a cupboard full of mops but no steam mop. It doesn't matter anymore since the cleaners bring their ow, and am I glad they come anyway. As for all the sexual harassment, our politicians have jumped in with their own complaints.

  11. My steam mop is out of action at the moment so I had to use a sponge mop the other day, I much prefer the steam cleaner as cleaning the kitchen floor isn't a favourite task:)

  12. I do like your new header picture.

I've never used a steam mop, although many folks seem very pleased with them.
Online Christmas shopping can be very helpful, although I do enjoy mooching around the shops and enjoying how they have been decorated!

    All the best Jan

  14. I'm a hands-and-knees floor washed. It's hard on the knees but you could eat off it when it's done. I can't say I've never been sexually harassed, but I've been fortunate to have worked for good some really good men so I know they are out there. Of course, except for newspapers I've never worked in the entertainment industry so that may explain it. I'm the last to blame women and excuse the men, but I do think some of these victims lack common sense. I mean, the last one was raped by a man I believe at his home and then a second time when she let him into her home, through a lobby where there were other people. That's just nuts.
Paul's current project is a book on the golf swing. He writes a lot of more interesting stuff (poetry, fiction, nonfiction) but that's what's in production now.
Hope you continue to get your strength back and have a good weekend!

  15. I hate mopping floors. Send some of that warm weather our way please - especially if you have sunshine. It's been a dull, dreary week here.

  16. I don't think I know of a woman that has not been harassed, I certainly have been. The stories are horrible and these are just the few we are hearing, there are so many more happening to regular people just like you and I.
