Protection

Overnight lows around 60º--that would be last Sunday night--overnight lows around 30º--that would be tonight.  My daffodils are blooming and I asked Mac to cut them and bring them in so they don't have to freeze.  I fear that February is going to be as cold as January and that's after they predicted we'd have a warmer than normal winter down here--HA!
Breakfast for dinner today, Ham, Eggs and Potatoes, I'm not feeling very creative.

  1. I need to go buy a vase. To put flowers in. From the grocery store, every week. I pass that crate of flowers and say "I need to go buy a vase!"

  2. Poor daffodils, they put up with some rough treatment from the weather.

  3. What a difference a day makes, it is very similar here so changeable. Snow is once again predicted for later in the week. Ham, egg and potatoes sound good.

  4. The first Daffodils I’ve seen this year, we do have a lonely rose in the garden probably because the weather is so changeable here too xx

  5. I brought some camellias in this afternoon for the same reason -- 25 here tonight. Poor things were about done in by the last cold snap. A few survivors have tried to make a comeback but the petals are tinged in brown.

  6. Lovely daffodils. My mom told me that was my flower, as my maiden name was "Dill". I have always loved them. Another memory you have reminded me of...you breakfast for dinner. I loved when mom would make pancakes, eggs and ham for dinner.

  7. Pretty daffodils. Bringing nature indoors is a wonderful way to decorate. Especially when outside is very cold. Stay warm!

  8. I've just noticed our daffodils are through the ground, but not blooming. I'm afraid February is going to be really cold too. Today had been cold and very windy!

  10. Nothings growing here. Everything brown. We had one night down to 8 degrees, which broke the record of 12 degrees for that particular day. It also broke one of our outdoor faucets so the plumber came and visited and left with a check for $122.

  12. I noticed the daffodils were starting to show through... far too early in my opinion, far too cold. Ham, Eggs and Potatoes would suit me right now.

  13. Good idea to resuce the daffodils. We've had sun, wind, rain, hail and sleet this morning so far, wonder what will be next? Stay warm:)
